Jogjakarta and Pekalongan are 2 other cities known for the hand-made batik industries till today. Jakarta, well, the capital city of Indonesia, and mainly for business.

The characteristic of batik Solo is in its usage of the colour ‘sogan’. Sogan is a combination of the colour dark brown, light brown, black brown, and red brown.

Solo Batik is known for its traditional batik patterns be it batik cap or batik tulis, and also famous with the sidomukti and sidoluruh pattern.
